RECOGNITION FOR CALEDONIAN PLYWOOD COMPANY'S FIRE DOORS

The quality and safety of Caledonian Plywood Company's Fire Doors was demonstrated recently during an incident involving a fire in a Glasgow tower block.

Our Fire Doors have been installed in many locations including the tower block in Curle Street, Whiteinch, where an inferno broke out on the 11th floor. However, the effectiveness and resistance of CPC's Fire Doors ensured that the fire was prevented from spreading and saved the lives of residents. In a quote by Group Commander Gerry Rooney of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, in an article by Deborah Anderson in the Evening Times, Mr Rooney established the importance of CPC's Fire Doors by highlighting: ''These doors certainly performed their function in exceedingly high heat. They stopped the fire spreading to other properties and allowed us to focus our on tackling the fire.''

With regard to these particular Caledonian Plywood Company ''CP Light'' Doors, they were manufactured for and in conjunction with the design of Mr George Gilchrist of Pyramid Joinery and Construction for Glasgow Housing Association.
